1 per cent for the arts and public commissions: from application to handover
The ‘1 per cent for the arts’ scheme and public commissions for works of art are subject to the rules governing public procurement and the construction industry. UOTNI supports the artist from the application stage onwards, and then carries out the work: technical design, production in our workshop in Pantin, installation and final acceptance.

Applications and competitions
- Review of the regulations and programme, summary sheet.
- Assessment of technical feasibility and estimation of production costs, within the project’s budget.
- Compilation of the administrative and technical dossier.
- Feasibility report, production schedule and cost estimate for the tender.
Engineering and compliance
- Construction drawings and choice of materials for a durable outdoor artwork.
- Coordination with the structural engineering firm (calculation notes) and the inspection body.
- Taking into account site constraints: public access, accessibility, impact, and maintenance.
- Prototypes and samples approved by the artist and the client.
Manufacture, installation and handover
- Manufacture at our workshop in Pantin.
- Site preparation, health and safety plan, and coordination with other contractors.
- Installation, adjustment and finishing on site.
- A record of the work carried out and maintenance advice provided to the client, until final handover.
