Artificial Insects

installation // Paris 19th (75019)

Creating a “Roboficial” ecosystem: the workshop invites a dozen participants from different professions and the children of the neighbourhood to come and take a seat “at the table!” for 3 days, soaking up and immersing themselves in the plant world. The garden is the theatre of operations, where a table is set as a space for creation and fabrication.

In the spirit of “the garden as the recomposition of an idea of nature at the gardener’s hand”, the tools with which we created this fauna are drawn from human technology and use the language of electronics. Using analogue technology offers a know-how accessible to all and allows everyone to develop a palette of behaviours with an ease that digital processes do not offer.

The idea of fauna and insects can thus evolve towards new ways of functioning, subject to each participant’s gaze, as a witness to the evolution of our environments.

It is therefore about paying attention to “the gardening table!”, but even more, a way of showing it and rediscovering it within a biotope that is always in motion.
